3 Steps to keep yourself safe on twitter
The Twitverse is a public world and so is your content and presence. Thus controlling who sees your content and who is not aware of your presence is difficult. Yes there is an option to set your updates to private, but your profile is still searchable. Although there are some things you can control mainly - your account safety. Here are three ways to keep yourself safe.
- High Password Strength: The usual beware clauses apply. Keep a password of high strength – alphanumeric, at least 10 characters, use special characters to enhance strength, & DO not use the same password for many accounts.
- Access to third Party tools with caution: There are many third party tools that take your twitter password and username to allow access to the tools.
- Beware of Phishing: The amount of links posted by tweeters are taunting and you may never be able to go through all of them. But, the ones that you do go through unaware of what lies beyond could cause you some pain. Select your followers carefully.
